speaking of which, I was wondering what a phenomenon a free community had done - sxc wasn't an ordinary feat. so many users, i don't know the exact stats - might be a half a million users there ? there's no reason why there cannot be an alternative :) we are perfectly in a position to be a very viable alternative!

Dez, your 1000th download was Easter Prayer 2 Duotone. I believe you said this was a picture of Angela.
I know for a fact this was number 1000.

I'll have to tell her. I phoned her last night to let her see the photos. I took them last year and just never got around to doing anything with them. She was pleasantly surprised. See, when I was the boss, I could force my workers to pose for me. Now I'm a nobody, I would have to pay! LOL

The Easter competition has been good. great response - great images! I couldn't contribute any to that competition.
Assignments are a great way to add images and useful ones. I remember the time when SXC they had the business image/ people contest - it had been a great draw of talent.
we're close to 35k images and 1.5k registered users!

I do fear for the cat though. Has anyone ever eaten cat ? Is it even legal in the UK ?
For starters I think it might be illegal to kill the cat. Because of animal cruelty laws. So that might be a problem.
I think the cat may be safe after all. :-)
