3. xymonau15 March 2011, 22:53 GMT +01:00

I've gotten down to 25, but I just can't seem to go any further.

Many flash based games at this site. This is the link to their popular Apple Shooter.
Bring out the William Tell hidden inside you.

Oh, that's dreadful! I just don't like graphics that are so gory. I'm sure lots of people will love it!

6. Groningen19 March 2011, 17:40 GMT +01:00

@4
my niece loves that game
especially when the head gets stuck on the tree and the rest of the body falls down

(she's 8 years old, should I be worried?)

7. krayker20 March 2011, 7:29 GMT +01:00

I'm also worried about some of these flash games sites attract some dubious people, slimy ads, and other scourge of the internet. Which is why I generally do not play games at any site, also don't like downloading games from unknown sources. I end up cleaning up PCs for my friends and relatives - most of whom would have downloaded these games. if its the damn games - Then I ask them politely not to bother me the next time they download these games and get infected :P

buy a Mac

;-)

9. krayker20 March 2011, 18:54 GMT +01:00

aah, I've seen them too, and they are the vectors in spreading the disease sometimes! lols. actually, the problem is with the people who don't want to exercise discretion, sadly. it's not really windows - post XP Sp2, there shouldn't really be a complaint against windows being a culprit. its sheer laziness or ignorance (also, cannot blame the 40+ elderly). I've recommended Mac to a lot of people and they are happy with it - just that they cant run the sundry software on mac, but hey, no everyday virus headaches. I'm happy too.

Hey, everything I post on this site are from legitimate sources.

This game site came from the "Time Wasters" section of the Steve Bass newsletter.
http://techbite.com/

Steve Bass is a former columnist for PCWorld before they cut back on their staff due to the recession.

I hit the apple cleanly on my first shot (to my surprise) and knocked his head off on the second shot. There are other games on the site that are fun and simple.

If any of my posts for sites or programs prove to be a security risk, I will remove them, have them removed or issue a statement not to go there. :)

The Lime Edition of the Line Game relies on your hand and eye coordination and proves I have few of those skills. As you move your mouse -- and the line -- remember that keeping the cursor in one spot slows down the movement. And don't worry, that won't help you much.

It is a good game, but I get nervous if there is pressure. That's why I prefer word or logic games.

Kongregate free on-line games is a great resource for time-wasters. It is a safe site and quite popular. (I checked the security rating)

There are a zillion things to do on this site so go waste some time!

A fun image search challenge

Guess the Google requires speed and a knack for search engines. The game presents a collage of images found from a Google search. Your task is to quickly guess the word used for the search.

Oh, that's not enough time. I like it, though.

Entanglement Puzzle Game

The goal is to create the longest path possible across the game board.

You start with one tile that has several path segments on it. You can rotate the tile with your mouse's scroll wheel or you can click the green arrows on the screen. Left-click to confirm the tile's position and add a new tile.

Rotate the new tile to make a longer path. Avoid directing the path into a wall or the center area. You get points for the number of tiles that the path crosses. It's a game you can play over and over again. I got a score of 90 on my first try; can you beat it?

Note that this game is built using HTML5. That means you will need an HTML5-compatible browser. The latest versions of Internet Explorer 9, Firefox, Chrome, Opera or Safari will work.

I'll have to install a new browser before I can see, Cris, but it looks like fun.

A fun Tetris clone

Tetris is one of the most recognizable video games ever made. It was released in 1984 and has been a staple of gaming ever since. It isn't hard to see why.

Thanks, Cris! I wasted many hours on Tetris when I bought my first computer, I'm ashamed to say.

Cut the Rope

The idea is simple: You feed a hungry creature named Om Nom by cutting candy loose from swinging ropes. It requires perfect timing and some creativity. Do you have what it takes?

Have fun finding out, but be warned: if you're not careful, you can play for hours.
