207. xymonau26 December 2011, 10:08 GMT +01:00

So you've had a lovely family Christmas. That's really nice.

I think my father with his Scottish mother had an influence on me. Christmas was never a big deal, but New Year's was. "Auld Lang Syne" sends me into a fit of tears every time!

At the turn of the century (and milennium!), I really wanted my son home. He was. It just felt very significant to me, and I wanted him to be with me.

208. happyture26 December 2011, 10:12 GMT +01:00

Aye Aye,,what aboot Hogmanay Dezzie, we ere Scots celebrate the last day of the year with plenty of highland dancing and frolicking,,,do yooo celebrate Hogmanay dezzie ....

209. xymonau26 December 2011, 10:24 GMT +01:00

Well, that's where it all comes from, but no - I just see the new year in. I am quite a boring person, Mikey. You should know that by now.

215. xymonau26 December 2011, 14:19 GMT +01:00

I don't know what your normal prices are like, but once on a trip to Brisbane, I stopped to use a loo at a service station. I felt I should buy something, but they had nothing I wanted. I was a bit tired, so I thought I'd buy a coke for the caffeine. i got a tiny 300ml bottle and they hit me up $4.50! In a drink machine you'd pay $3.00 for a 600ml can and be robbed blind. But this was unbelieveable. I asked if that was correct, and they assured me it was. So if you think it's expensive there, just wait till your holiday in Oz!

216. happyture27 December 2011, 10:50 GMT +01:00

Do you know dezzie, i think everywhere is the same now, everyone is trying to make muny,,trying to make themselves feel safe with a bunch of muny, sad thing is its not helping the global recession..makes me mad it does, fuming ,,it should be one item one price!!!

217. xymonau27 December 2011, 12:31 GMT +01:00

There have always been "businessmen" who rob people blind.
